The pattern Brier was a labor of love. Part of the first collection, the design was reworked and recolored numerous times until we were satisfied. A thicket of berries covers the fabric creating a wonderful all over design. The medium scale is perfect for an occasional chair, draperies or a play against a larger scale print.

VICTORIAN MOD
PILLOWS

Inspired by Hydrangea blossoms, Victorian Mod has a very springy feel and started out as a wild abstract painting. Then someone mentioned to me that I should make fabrics like my abstract paintings. It is never easy to put something abstract into repeat but this design just happened to have the right curse of the stem to be a perfect sinuous half drop. Once I saw it in repeat I fell in love and thought of the Victorian wallpapers with the same undulating curve. The large scale of the repeat lets you see all of the abstract details of the dots and brush strokes of the original painting. It is definitely my most complex design yet. - Alex

LOUIS STRIPE

Named after my French citizen nephew, Louis Stripe is created out of a simple line of hatched brush strokes that I repeated over and over, then colored in a gradation to create an ombre stripe. I love this tiny texture stripe that looks like it could have been woven. It is printed on a heavier linen perfect for upholstery. I could see sofas and chairs covered in Louis Stripe. It is a perfect subtle pattern. - Alex

ESPALIER
PILLOWS

Espalier is named for the ancient horticultural practice of training fruit trees and shrubs onto a frame. It was not my intention to make a design to reference the practice. I was actually playing with the original inspiration for Louis Stripe, which was a stripe of short brush strokes randomly clustered together. I wanted to expand on that idea and branch it out. The result became Espalier. The Hedge colorway reminds me of new leaves just starting to bud. Modern and abstract, Espalier is a perfect breath of fresh air for any room.
