Nikko

I had this idea for a floral or tree motif, that I painted many different iterations. The leaves were a different style in every iteration, but I settled on little balls. I love a circle and I was able to give it a color transition that is fun in patterns. After I put it into repeat I decide to add more elements. I went back to my spray floral motif from Calliandra and added a background to it. This looked like a cherry blossom and started to feel very Japanese So I added sticks which feel like a bamboo lattice. I named it for a national park in Japan. There is a nice sinuous flow to this pattern that is easy to live with.
