Tobacco

Growing up, we had a family farm that raised cattle and tobacco. I have fond memories of visiting the farm in the summers to pick tomatoes out of the tobacco fields, where they were planted. Back then, the countryside was scattered with tobacco fields that glistened with big green leaves in the early summer. In the fall, you could see simple wooden barns full of the stalks, hanging to dry from the rafters. It is the beauty of these tobacco plants that I used to be happy to see in the fields, and I wanted to pay tribute to this memory that many Kentuckians share.
